It's here! I've finally done it. Whew! I had no idea it would take this much work just to get what I've got done, but I am ready to share this journey. I have officially formed my label. My brand. Who I am known as in the photography industry. Whatever you want to call it! With that, I will be having to break up with this blog (I know... no tears though, it's not you... it's me, no really... it's not you, just this blog) and start fresh. This one will still be sitting here, like the little sister that never leaves you alone, but anything from here on out will be on my new site. PLEASE come check it out. Follow me! Love me over there just the same, if not more as you've done here! Just be patient as I still try to get all the pages to the site finished. This one man team over here is slower than I'd like to admit! :) I'm so excited for this, and the things that will come. You guys are the best!! Thank you for all your support, confidence building comments, and spreading the word about me and what I do. You have brought me to this next, wonderful stage in my career!

Somehow, this little guy got lost in the shuffle of pictures around here, and never made it on the blog. But I promise, the parents got the pictures when they were supposed to! This little guys cracked me up. The minute we took that diaper off for naked pictures, he screamed. But the diaper went back on, and he was fine. Hilarious! So no naked bum of him. Maybe he's just smarter than the average baby, no blackmail photos to be used against him when he's 17. *smile*

This little guy cracked me up! He was the most content kid... really! Reminded me of my little guy, way back when! Mine was about 50 pounds heavier and absolutely bald though. What you don't see are the blankets off to the side of them, which they grabbed the second we thought we had the shot! See, that's the great thing about being behind the camera. I really had a great time shooting with this family. And I will say, the mom is one of the most photogenic people I have ever met. She looked amazing in EVERY SINGLE PHOTO. Wow! Not something you are lucky enough to get every time. Not even the newborns can pull that one off!

Okay, I've fallen in love twice over. LOVE this little doll of a girl, and love her parents just as much. Totally could hang out with all 3 of them any day of the week!! And just realized you can't see it in any of the pictures here, but she totally has her mom's red hair. Beautiful!

It's time for some changes. First thing up is going to be a price adjustment. It's not going to be drastic in any way, (I still want all my friends to be my friends!) but something that needs to happen now that this is up and going more than it was just a year ago. So watch for the change in the next week. For those who already have a session booked, have no fear, you will get the old price already agreed upon. There are so many things I loved about this shoot. Love this girl. Really. And I loved getting to try some senior portraits. Besides that, she's gorgeous! But I can't stand the fact that she's leaving this summer, and to top it off her family is moving too. I will say though, I am SO excited for her, because college is going to be a blast! Right before taking off for the summer, I had the chance to meet this little guy and his parents. And I mean right before... like days! Hey all! So here are some little cuties you might recognize from here, here, here, here, here, and oh... I think you get the point! Let just say I love these kids and although I see them often, it still blows me away how quickly they are growing up. It seems even a week makes a difference. :( I'm just grateful I get to share this with them. There is nothing better than watching a kid grow up and show you little by little more of who they really are. It's the best. :)

Workshop photos

These are a few of the photos I got while taking a workshop with the ever so talented Audrey Wouldard and Tamara Lackey. I L O V E D getting to follow them around and try to see what they see in a shoot. I will be the first to admit that I would hands down take their photos over mine, but this isn't a grabbing contest. So I'm good. Seriously though, the entire thing was just nothing but fun for me!

Okay, and don't you just love the fact that one of the boys jumps so high, I lost his head in every frame! Poor thing. If only I had cropped it in from another photo, then you wouldn't even know. If only. I can however appreciate all the hair action we having going on here!

where oh where did I go

So here's a quick glance at where I've been. I spent over a week in Las Vegas at the worlds largest photography convention (wppi). It was amazing! This was my first year out there, and surely not my last. Well, assuming I can get my mom back out to watch the kids. ;) I sat in classes all day, from 8am until 8:30pm. It was crazy insane and intense, but worth every exhausting minute! I was able to go to an all day workshop with one of my absolute FAVORITE photographers, Tamara Lackey. As expected she was amazing! The biggest surprise was Jesh de Rox. I knew I loved him before I went, but he changed the way I look at even life itself. Just awe inspiring. I would so love to go to one of his conferences. Maybe when I'm making a little more money I'll be there! Start booking more people! Haha! Sadly I didn't even get my camera out to take pictures. If I could have shown you the crowds of 15,000 people running around, or all the amazing new stuff at the trade show, or the amazingly huge lines waiting to get into a class, I would.

See me here, and the Hollywood sign? This is about as close to seeing the strip as I got all week. Really. I was inside in classes the ENTIRE time! And that little pig... well, my girls sent it with me to keep me company since I was leaving for so long. I was totally supposed to take pictures of the pig all over the place to send to them. Yea, lets just say I completely forgot until the last night. I was ready to go to bed, but had to quickly snap something. Sorry girls!

And I was so happy that my dad was actually able to come up and see me for a bit! Well, "see" may be the wrong word since we were both going separate directions for most of the time. But it was great to hang out with him! I just don't think he knew what he was getting into...

So here is my absolute fave, Tamara, working her magic. This little one was so shy, and who wouldn't be in front of 20 photographers all aiming their cameras at her. But Tamara was easily able to pull her out of her shell. I could watch how she interacts with kids all day. She really is amazing and what she does! I'll have another post on some actual images I got, but I wanted to show a little behind the scene first, since really.. I don't have anything else to show for the week. ;)

And get this. Tamara took a picture of my little one at another workshop, and she used it in her marketing! LOVED the actual photo, and it turns out she did too! It was such an awesome surprise to see it on the huge banner and on the flyers!! So I know you can't tell (I couldn't get back any further than I already was) but here is a picture of one of the big banners she had up. All the more reason to love Tamara. As if you needed one! :)

Oh it's been so hard waiting to get these photos done and up. Right after taking them, I took off for the worlds largest photo convention. It was awesome, but a very long week and a half. Then for the next week we had so much company in town I didn't even turn on the computer. Couple all that with computer meltdowns (I think my computer is a teenager some days) I was getting very impatient. But they are here, and I'm in love. It was SO SO SO worth the wait! Oh and I know I keep saying I'm not baby hungry, but when you give me a baby like this and a camera, that all changes. Just shhh, don't tell my husband! ;)

I had these guys over one night, where everything kept making it harder than it should. Too many of MY kids to try and drop off different places, so I was running late because of it and then the sun left us earlier than it should. So we had them over for dinner the next night to try again. Their little one was napping, and we all hate to wake a napping baby. So another late start with very little light, and high ISO. Then with Thanksgiving weekend, and other rush orders for Christmas it took some time to get these ready. A week longer than it ever does. But we got some great ones despite all the hassle. It's nice to have friends who understand! :)

It's kind of funny the last two photo opportunities I've had, both names started with a C! This one however, was the youngest I've ever practiced on (aside from my 3, which don't count since they were before I really did much. Unfortunately.) This sweetie was only 7 days old!!! This girl cracked me up. Nothing but games and silly faces from her. It was such a refreshing experience since it nearly put my kids into tears nowdays for pictures!
